Apple has released the first public beta versions of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. They can be installed on all iPhone models compatible with iOS 14, and iPad models compatible with iPadOS 14.
Anyone can participate in the beta program, but do not forget that beta versions are not as stable as the final ones. We recommend that you install them only for experienced users not on the main devices.
iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 contain many interesting new features, including Dark Mode, performance improvements, keyboard swipe input, improvements to many standard applications, new Animoji and much more. Note that iPadOS is the version of iOS for the iPad.
How to download public beta versions of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14
Recall that in beta versions of the system there are bugs and other problems that can even lead to data loss. We do not recommend installing them on your main devices that you use daily.
Always back up your iPhone and iPad before installing any beta updates.
Open the link https://beta.apple.com/ from your iPhone or iPad and register in the program following the instructions.
After you register your iPad or iPhone in the program, you can install the public beta of iOS 14 or iPadOS 14 through Settings in the Software Update section.
Be sure to back up your device before installing the beta. So you can roll back from the beta version of iOS 14 to iOS 13, if something goes wrong. You can save a copy through iTunes or iCloud.
If you do not save a copy, this may result in the loss of your data. This applies to all system updates, but especially beta versions, since they cause the most problems.
You can also download the public beta of MacOS Catalina on your Mac and tvOS 14 for Apple TV.
Apple will release the final versions of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 this fall.
